there are 2 sound cards in my computer:
- Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI - VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233 AC97 Audio Controller
(lspci)
with the drivers es1371 and via82xx.
With my VIA card I have 4 input channels on /dev/dsp (which means that it can be used by 4 OSS sound applications simultaneously), with my Ensoniq only one.
Why is the number of channels different and why are there exactly 4 input channels with my VIA card?
Is there a way to increase this number?
