I bought a SB Live recently in hopes of using my 5.1 speakers. I can play mp3s with mpg123 etc when I load the snd-emu10k1 driver. However (if the driver is loaded) I get sound through the speakers it seems every time the display on the monitor changes? For example if I load alsa-mixer and scroll the displays to the left or right I get an audible "bump" each time I scroll. If I scroll rapidly it becomes a "hum".
I have a Epox 8KHA+ MB with a NVidia GF4 (4200) video card, the SBLive, an Adaptec 7860, and a netgear PCI NIC. It seems most of these cards are sharing an IRQ which is normal for a PCI cards yes?
