-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi
First I'd just like to state that I'm very happy with the way alsa works for me, good work. However I'm experiencing problems on a HP Brio BA400 equipped with CS soundchip. I cannot for sure tell you exactly what version of the chip this is, since that's a big part of the problem. lspci states that the chip is a "Cirrus Logic CS 4614/22/24" with PCI ID " 1013:6003 (rev 01)" HP themselves says that it is a CS4280 chipset, which is also what is imprinted on the chip itself. alsa (from kernel 2.6.0-test2, reported from alsa-mixer) states that it has found a "CS4297A rev 4". I'm not sure what is the correct info but, alsa DO detect a CS card, although I haven't been able to get any software playing through the card. I have tried mplayer (both alsa and oss output) and mpg123. mpg123 says: "No supported rate found." mplayer complains about: "alsa-init: unable to set periodsize: Invalid argument." Do anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this fuzz, and what to do about it? I understand the CS chipsets are not the easiest chipset to support, but I hope someone can come up with some clever idea. SSH root-shell may be possible to arrange, if your identity as a known alsa-developer can be validated. Thank you for your time. //Ulrik - -- Most people can do without the essentials, but not without the luxuries. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/S6JJ069SELtZwIkRAimpAJ9/6AniheVYrDZWFyojBgBFQ6f//QCfUg2Q EvLod1RoloUzMviNm8oQCgE= =Zx9E -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine.
