Package alsa-base in Debian unstable repository includes the following scripts:
/etc/apm/event.d/alsa /etc/devfs/conf.d/alsa /etc/init.d/alsa
I have not found them in any of the current 0.9.6 packages downloaded directly from ftp.alsa-project.org. I wonder if they were created by the Debian packagers, or they are took from some other developers.
I suppose those scripts would be very useful if I decide to compile the latest ALSA snapshots or even get the bledding-edge version from CVS.
yes, these are debian specific scripts (might or might not be usable for other distros, probably not without at least minor changes)
