Hi,

I am having trouble with my ALSA drivers. I have an Audigy, and am
trying to setup the Digital Coaxial output.

I have a Klipsch Promedia 5.1 set of speakers, with the digital decoder--
so it shows me what mode the audio is in.

I get sound, like from XMMS, sounds GREAT. But I cant seem to get any
DVD software to output digitally.. Basically I am missing out on the
DD5.1 and DTS experience I had prior to my linux "voyage". I get sound,
but it remains on the decoder as PCM, and it sounds WAY quiet.

I figured out how to use the alsa mixer, but I cant tell that any of the
settings make any difference.

If it makes any difference to the group, I popped the optical connector
cover off of the back of the computer, and it has a nice bright red light
coming out, so I think its "enabled", I just am looking for a way to test
it-- to see if its a Xine or Mplayer problem, or a sound card driver issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am running 0.9.4 on everything.. I followed the directions for a EMU10k
drivers to set it up. Originally when I set it up (a month ago at least,
is how long Ive been messing with this!), I dont recall seeing an Audigy
section-- though I read through it now, and it looks to be the same
setup, same page even (comments on the bottom even).

Im hoping someone can help me out, because I am seriously missing my
DTS!! :-)

TIA,

Tim
