system:

  debian unstable
  2.4.21-ac4
  alsa 0.9.6 intel8x0 driver
  intel D965PERL motherboard

I followed the advice on alsa web site and:

options snd-intel8x0 mpu_port=0x330

so now aconnect says there is a midi port:

jojda:/home/erik/skusobna/alsa-driver-0.9.6# aconnect -i -o -l
client 0: 'System' [type=kernel]
    0 'Timer '
    1 'Announce '
client 64: 'Rawmidi 0 - Intel ICH5 MPU-401' [type=kernel]
    0 'Intel ICH5 MPU-401'

but when I run pmidi -p 64:0 some.mid there is no sound. And there is no mixer control that would look like sequencer volume. Is it supposed to be an external midi port (there's no external midi port on the motherboard, nor real midi neither gameport). Or do I need to load samples/soundfonts (how?)?

?

TIA

erik
