On system startup, there is no /dev/snd/seq device. All apps thet require MIDI control will not start up EXCEPT for PD, which starts fine and reads midi. From then on the device /dev/snd/seq exists and all other dependant apps will get MIDI fine. Why would I need to run a seemingly random app to enable MIDI I/O ?
