So i'm slowly figuring out that ALSA is way more than just an audio driver API. It can do routing, format conversion and MIDI. Funny thing is that I thought I read the ALSA docs fairly well and found not so much information on these subjects. Am I looking in the wrong place? www.alsa-project.org and the Wiki.
Also, it seems impossible for more than one ALSA application to be open and use the sound card at one time unless using JACK, which some programs don't support. Is this true or is it another user error on my part?
