Whoops. It's there, but I forgot to post it. The beginning of the sound section in /etc/modules.conf looks like:
# ALSA portion alias char-major-116 snd # OSS/Free portion alias char-major-14 soundcore Also, if I just load the icd-1712 driver and snd-pcm-oss, and try to use aplay, I get "Playing WAVE 'emperor_tomato_ketchup.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo aplay: set_params:809: Sample format non available." Anyone know if this is just a configuration issue?
