Hi, I have a new Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 sound card. I only want to use analog line in/out and perhaps mic (no digital output etc.). My problem: Playing music works; listening to music/sound from the line in connector works, too, but I cannot record it. I tried to unmute or change the volume settings with alsamixer and gamix, but without any success (perhaps I played with the wrong settings?).
Another problem: Some minutes ago I tried to play a music cd with KsCD without success: KsCD seemed to play the cd, but no sound came out of the speakers. Has this anything to do with my sound card (settings)? By the way: My alsa version is 0.9.0.cvs20020903-13 (from the SuSE 8.1 DVD). I have another on-board sound card wich is detected by Yast, but I did not configure it. What can I do? Do I have to upgrade alsa? Or a probem with the on-board sound?
