First my commendations to CCRMA and ALSA-Project! The installation has been seriously seriously perfected over the past few months. My SiS onboard soundcard was recognized and installed super smoothly via planet ccrma.
The only problem: my m-audio quattro wasn't picked up. I need to modify my modules.conf file. I'm running red hat 9.0 on a desknote laptop, and the usb module is on in the kernel. here's my modules.conf file: alias eth0 sis900 alias usb-controller ehci-hcd alias usb-controller1 usb-uhci alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394 # --- BEGIN: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. --- # --- ALSACONF verion 0.9.0 --- alias char-major-116 snd alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0 alias char-major-14 soundcore alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss options snd major=116 cards_limit=1 options snd-intel8x0 index=0 # --- END: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. --- I believe I need to add something like alias snd-card-0 snd-usbaudio or something and then repeat the sound service line but with 1-0 1-1 1-3...1-12, but am not sure. Also I forgot how to edit the file via command prompt. Is there anything else I should know about getting this card to work? I'd like the Quattro to be my primary sound card, and could ignore the onboard one all together. thanks, todd __________________________________________________________________ Gesendet von Yahoo!
