When opening up my Sony Vaio, I found a SIS 962L chip.  I assume this is the sound 
chip right?  Also Redhat 9 picks up i810 as the audio driver.  The SIS 962L is also 
not in the ALSA list of supported chips.

Can someone give me a detailed bulleted checklist of what needs to be done and 
vefified in order to install ALSA on a linux box.
