I've compiled succesfully my 2.4.20 kernel with k7 processor type features
enables, since I'm working on a AthlonXP 2200. My soundcard is a Terratec
EWX 24/96, based on ice1712 chipset, therefore that's the only kind of soundcard
I've enabled the compilation of alsa-drivers for.
Everything compiles succesfully, both the kernel and the alsa-drivers, but
when alsa modules try to load (in particular the snd.o module) I get an
"_mmx_memcpy" unresolved symbol, even if that function is contained in the
mmx.c source file of the kernel, that should be compiled into it according
to the #define directives due to my kernel (.config) configuration...where
am I wrong? is there a mismatch somewhere in symbols that are exported by
the kernel and those expected to be by alsa-drivers? I've then tried to
recompile everything with basic 386 support and everything works fine that
way, but I'd like to optimize code generation for my machine architecture.
Thanks in advance to all those who will be able to help me.
Fede
