I am using the cs-4236 sound card and am having issues getting it to work after recompiling the kernal.
After compiling a new modutils-2.4.24 and checking for soundcore: ./modinfo soundcore filename: /lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/sound/soundcore.o description: "Core sound module" I then compiled these programs: alsa-driver-0.9.4 alsaplayer-0.99.75 alsa-utils-0.9.4 alsa-lib-0.9.4 alsa-tools-0.9.4 cs4236.html & following the wiki sheet for my card tried to install the following... but received error messages listed below. modprobe snd-cs4236; modprobe snd-pcm-oss; modprobe snd-mixer-oss; modprobe snd-seq-oss. Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.21/modules.dep/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/isa/cs423x/snd-cs4236.o: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including inva lid IO or IRQ parameters. You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg. alsaconf in the alsa-driver/utils directory correctly finds my card but cant get it started probably because of module issues. Any useful advice is welcome. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
