Hello Greg, Can you try running alsaconf to configure you system for ALSA? It does a few things including cleaning up the file /etc/modules.conf. Make sure the following lines are commented out in it: alias sound-slot-0 via82cxxx_audio post-install pre-remove
Reboot your Linux. when you try lsmod, you shouldn't see via82cxxx_audio listed anymore. That was what I did for my Redhat 8.0. Regards, Anthony Dominic Truong.
