Hi guys. My first post here so hello to you all!

I have a project which I've just started, that requires me to install various things on Linux (new to Linux). I'm using Yellow Dog 3.0, which runs on an OSX Mac powerbook G4.
I've downloaded and installed the full suite of ALSA software but am having one remaining error message. When I run the DMIDID programme (www.dmidi.org) I get the following message:
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:446:(snd_seq_hw_open) /dev/snd/seq failed: No such drive or directory.

Some more info you might find useful:
/dev/snd/seq does not exist. Rather, /dev/snd is a link that points to /proc/asound/dev, which also does not exist. There is no asound directory in proc.

Also, when I tell Linux to do a soundcard detection it finds the card okay but the test sound cannot be heard. All other sounds are coming across fine.

Any ideas guys? Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
