Tobiah,
Hi. Can you provide some more info on how things are set up? If
you've got the Delta44 IRQ on 9, then that's a good start. I do not
understand how you moved the IRQ for video. That's normally not movable.
Can you supply the complete output of an lspci -v command?

What's the basic hardware of your machine? uP, memory, other
peripherals, etc. This and the lspci info will help.

Next, are you using Alsa by itself, or are you using Jack? I'm
thinking there's a chance you are running the Delta44 at 24-bits/96KHz
which could load up the machine a bit much.

What sort of hard disks are you using to record?

Anyway, let us know what's up and we'll try and help.

Yeah, I'd like to run at 24/96, but the problem exists at CD quality too. It is not a horsepower issue, I don't think, as my machine's stats indicate...

I have also been through three motherboards and two video
cards since I have had the Delta44... I have always had
this problem in linux, whether using straight ALSA, or
the commercial O$$ drivers.

I'm not using Jack, just arecord/aplay with ALSA drivers.
The problem is worse with X apps like XMMS. It is definately
video activity that most often causes the glitch, but it
still happens maybe a few times a minute if I don't touch
the screen. That is why I tried cutting the latency
of the video card. One of the best ways to glitch is
to Alt-tab to Mozilla.

Oh, and the video IRQ moved to four by itself when I
disabled my serial ports, otherwise I use my bios to
try to shuffle the irq of each slot around if I need to.

Thanks!
