Hi!

I'm using a SB Live! with Alsa 0.9.0rc6 and gamix as mixer.

Now I want to use the rear channels to connect a second pair of boxes.
I doesn't want to use 5.1 sound, but I use the new pair for better
listening quality (this is a working place with several colleague, so
now everone has a pair of boxes in his direction).

Now I wonder why the rear speaker are not controled by the master or
pcm channel in the mixer. In alsamixer (and gnome-alsamixer) I found
wave and wave surround. The latter seems to be the only one to control
the rear output. alsermixer shows a lot of channels to control. I
wonder if there is documentation that explains every channel.

My questions are now:
a) Why is at least master not controling the rear channels?
b) What is the difference between pcm and wave, and is there a channel
   documentation?
c) Does anybody know how to control wave surround in gamix? I prefer
this one for gnome-alsamixer, and alsamixergui is not configurable
(I don't want to see every channel).

Shade and sweet water!

        Stephan
