Hi,

I have a VIA VT8233 audio chip (onboard).
The problem is that sound output is very silent.
It is not a mixer problem - all controls are at maximum.
I am using alsa-driver 0.9.0 (Gentoo Linux)

The card settings follow:
# cat /proc/asound/card0/ac97#0
