Hi all! :)

I was just about to try compiling another release of
alsa, and was wondering about some things I should do
first. I'm running Red Hat 7.3 and was wondering what
I should do with the kernel first. Should I do
something like "make mrproper", "make oldconfig" and
"make dep"?

Is there any sure-fire checklist to guarantee that I'm
taking the right steps?

cheers! :)
John
