I have Asus P4PE mother with AD1980, Anlogue Devices' SoundMax on board sound. After building all drivers, lib, and utils, I try inserting the module snd-intel8x0 driver on Red Hat 8.0 Linux 2.4.18-14 but:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] alsa]# /sbin/modprobe snd-intel8x0
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o: insmod snd-intel8x0 failed
Have I missed something? Should I be using a different driver?
Thanks, Robert Pastel
