Hi!

I have a new iBook and Iwould like to use alsa for playing sound. I installed
alsa-driver-0.9.0rc7 and alsa-lib-0.9.0rc7. Everything compiled and installed
fine. I can even here sound coming out of the speakers. But there are two
problems.

First: after booting I see the following line in the dmesg output:
ALSA ../alsa-kernel/ppc/keywest.c:79: tumbler: cannot initialize the MCS
It would be nice if somebody could explain to me the reason of this message
and if it's an error or nothing to worry about.

Second: I can unmute the soundcard by I can't change the volume. I tried
everything in amixer but it has no effect on the volume. Is it possible that
this effect is caused by using old util programs (alsa-utils_0.9.0beta12)?

Regards,
Martin
