This is probably Lars Doelle's GPL firmware, which does have some bugs.
You could try to deinstall it and to use Midiman's firmware instead (see
<http://www.informatik.uni-halle.de/~ladischc/midisport_linux_firmware.html>).

ALSA creates a virtual sequencer device for each rawmidi device.
