The ALSA source can't find your kernel source. IIRC /usr/src/redhat is *not* the kernel source, but a source directory for other apps from the Red Hat distro. If you wish to build against the original kernel that came with your distro, you'll need to install the kernel-source RPM, which will populate /usr/src/linux. <snip> > checking for directory with kernel source... /usr/src/redhat > checking for kernel version... As someone else has said, the CCRMA site has RPMS for a lot of this stuff which might make it easier. But, you'll get to know your system better by building it as you are, from source.
