Hi everyone!

I'm staring to work on a project at my university involving
playing recorded WAV-files through the laboratory's LynxTWO
sound card. They've used Windows 2000 so far, but now I
want to use Linux.

I wonder what "X?"=support unclear in the ALSA sound card
matrix means exactly, it appears there together with
"Rio"=RCA input/output, so maybe the card support is good
enough for my purpose (playing 24-bit/48kHz WAVs)? Any
experiences or comments on that? If it works, will it sound
good?

I plan to use QSound-objects from Trolltech's Qt
GUI-toolkit, so it's going to use network audio system
(NAS). Will this approach work (if the sound card support
from ALSA is existent).

Thanks and greetings,

Michael
