Hello, I am using alsa-driver-0.9.0rc7 on a 2.2.23 kernel and I am trying to install a Terratec EWX 24/96 card. I can successfully load the driver (ice1712) and I can use envy24control to modify some settings, but aplay (or arecord) refuses to access the card.
I get either one of the following two errors: > aplay -D hw:1 sm.wav Playing WAVE 'sm.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo aplay: set_params:787: Sample format non available > aplay -D plug:hw:1 sm.wav Playing WAVE 'sm.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:297:(snd_pcm_hw_hw_params) SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_HW_PARAMS failed: Cannot allocate memory aplay: set_params:815: Unable to install hw params: ACCESS: RW_INTERLEAVED FORMAT: S16_LE SUBFORMAT: STD SAMPLE_BITS: 16 FRAME_BITS: 32 CHANNELS: 2 RATE: 44100 PERIOD_TIME: (37142 37143) PERIOD_SIZE: 1638 PERIOD_BYTES: 6552 PERIODS: (4 5) BUFFER_TIME: (148594 148595) BUFFER_SIZE: 6553 BUFFER_BYTES: 26212 TICK_TIME: 10000 There are two cards in my machine > cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [Solo1 ]: ES1938 - ESS ES1938 (Solo-1) ESS ES1938 (Solo-1) rev 0, irq 9 1 [2496 ]: ICE1712 - TerraTec EWX 24/96 TerraTec EWX 24/96 at 0xa800, irq 11 With the first card everything works fine. Any ideas? If someone already got a Terratec EWX 24/96 card running, please share your knowledge with me.
