Ehem... I'll better wait a day or two until there's a snapshot available at 
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa/ftp/cvsexport I've not even installed the CVS program 
and shudder at the very thought of learning its blackish art.

Btw, Pavel Roskin posted a patch on the dev list to make timer.c in CVS compile. Works 
on the 2003-02-07.tar.bz2 snapshot, but at least one issue remains:
