Hi everyone,

i have just set up my new system (Debian, 2.4.20 kernel) and I have a real big problem I've not been able to solve by myslef.

My OS is working well, except for the sound. Indeed, I encounter random freezes (total freezes i mean, no keyboard nor mouse are working then, and i have to reset) when my sound card is used (xmms, mplayer). Random means here that the card (or the system) can hang up after 5 min or 2h, and when it happens, continues to play te same sound forever.

I think I have correctly installed the ALSA driver, latest version, and i use the es1371.o module for my Creative sb pci 64V card.

Important : my PC works well under win$, no sound pb at all. But I don't want to use this system any more. ;-)

I'm almost praying for someone who could have encountered this problem and who could help me or guide me to solve this weird bug.

Thanx for your patience,

Ronan
