I can't seem to get 4-channel audio working with my GameTheaterXP card. When I try:
aplay -Dsurround40 /usr/share/sounds/phone.wav
I get an error:
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/phone.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo
aplay: set_params:792: Channels count non available
I can play using either 'front' or 'back' just fine.
Any help would be appreciated!
Use plug:surround40 because stereo wav file have to be converted to four channels.
One further question: Is it possible now to have alsa use this as iot's default? I want KDE, xmms, etc to all be able to output to all four speakers.
