Hi,
I am facing problems while installing the alsa drivers downloaded from the site freshrpms.net. I am having a Yamaha sound card (OPL3 -SAx card).
The following is the error.
My kernel version is
[root@skywalker etc]# uname -r
2.4.18-14
[root@skywalker maverick]# ls

Again I am not able to install the utils package

Still i proceeded and edited the modules.conf file made the necessary
changes.
When I run the alsamixer I am able to adjust the volumes and I am able to
play the wav files.
But problem arises after a boot .
After a boot I get the following errors when KDE comes up.
Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
Below is my modules.conf file.
Could you please help me out of this situation.
Regards
Rakhin
