i am running the latest ALSA with a SBlive 5.1 card which seems to work fine, but i cannot seem to get the usb Midiman to work

i am using kernels from Planet CCRMA and am consistently getting the same error

i t seems it cannot create an instance for the usb midiman .
i have a /usr/src/ALSA directory and ../alsa-kernel/usb/usbaudio.c is in there but i am unsure how to hack it so it plays nice
any suggestions or help would be grand!
