Hello all, I posted an inquiry a few days ago - without response. It was about ALSA ../../alsa-kernel/pci/cs46xx/cs46xx_lib.c:464: cs46xx: failure waiting for FIFO command to complete
ALSA ../../alsa-kernel/pci/cs46xx/cs46xx_lib.c:163: AC'97 read problem (ACSTS_VSTS), codec_index 1, reg = 0x0 errors on a Debian installation. I guess that either the solution to my impasse is so embarrassingly obvious to everyone but me that delicacy forbids a response ... or that no one really knows what is going on and that I've stumbled into a genuine null area. May I request that in the first case please point things out to me in the kindergarten fashion they deserve or, in the second, please hazard either a guess or a direction for me to further search.
