[Alsa-user] spdif out

Hi everybody

I've got a Terratec 512i Digital working under SuSE Linux 8.1 professional.
The Kernel is a 2.4.19 and the alsa-drivers are 0.9.0rc6.
The analog output is ok with any input (e.g. CD, mp3, aux) but the digital output works only
with an mp3player(e.g. mp3blaster).
But in this case, I have no option to control the output.
Can anybody tell me, how to set the device up, to use any input and bring it out via the digital output?
