Well, probably with some comfort, running the vanilla-sources kernel
produces the exact same effect. aplay pauses for around 7 seconds, and then
spits out the 999 I/O error. I'll be happy to provide my kernel .config, and
also run any CVS drivers to help tackle a resolution for this problem. Any
info that you need, just let me know.
