Hi all
I am running a machine with Mandrake 9.0 with the ASLA 0.9.0.rc6 drivers
installed and have only recently embarked on trying to hook up my Midi
keyboard though a Midisport 4x4 device and would like some advice.
The plot
-----------
All I am trying to do is connect the midi keyboard and output the
resultant stream produced (when pressing a note) to the console but
don't know where to go from here.
The story so far
--------------------
The device is being recognised and produces the following in the
/var/log/message file
kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 10
kernel: usb.c: USB device 10 (vend/prod 0x763/0x1020) is not claimed by
any active driver.
/etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup midisport_fw for USB product 763/1020/1
/etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Module setup midisport_fw for USB product 763/1020/1
/etc/hotplug/usb/midisport_fw: load /usr/share/usb/MidiSport4x4.ihx for
763/1020/1 to /proc/bus/usb/001/010
kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 10
kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 11
/etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup snd-usb-audio for USB product 763/1021/130
Does anyone have a code example (small C program) or just an explanation
of how to go forward from here
All help greatly appreciated
Thanks
Bob
