1. I'm suffering from my Extigy's 'click's. Whenever I play any MP3s or WAVs in XMMS(both crossfade plugin using oss output and oss plugin)/mpg123(oss output)/mpg321(oss output, alsa0.9 output) at 44.1KHz output with usb-audio driver, I can notice continuous clicks. In another 44.1KHz tests with Win2k, no clicks at all. At least, my Extigy H/W has no problem. Mysteriously, at 48KHz output(force conversion by crossfade plugin) in XMMS, there is no click. In summary, 44.1KHz with ALSA driver through OSS interface/ALSA0.9 interface: continuous clicks (almost 2 clicks per second) 48KHz with ALSA driver through OSS interface: no clicks 44.1KHZ in Win2k: no clicks 2. Starting or stopping sound file play makes 'pop'. I didn't heard it at all when I used Trident 4dwave NX. 3. An another thing. I can't use amixer/alsamixer. (still 'divide by zero' error, invalid argument error) But the program using /dev/mixer works. (Although it worked, there is a bug. Sometimes, master output level increased to 100% suddenly, making my ears surprised!) I could make many segfaults but they didn't make the system crashed. Here is the error messages: """ $ amixer Segmentation fault $ alsamixer alsamixer: function snd_mixer_load failed: Invalid argument $ alsamixer Segmentation fault """ (in /var/log/message) """ Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: divide error: 0000 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: CPU: 0 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: EIP: 0010:[iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-113724/96] Tainted: PF Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: EFLAGS: 00210246 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: eax: 00000000 ebx: ddae3740 ecx: 00000001 edx: 00000000 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: esi: ddae2ec0 edi: c4655ec4 ebp: 00000000 esp: d7327f44 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: Process amixer (pid: 24752, stackpage=d7327000) Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: Stack: ddae3740 e09a875a ddae3740 00000001 c4655c00 00000001 e09871e5 ddae2ec0 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: c4655c00 d5ada640 bfffea18 c2c45512 ceded6c0 00000000 e09877c0 cebaf800 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: bfffea18 d5ada640 bfffea18 c2c45512 ffffffe7 cebaf800 c01427b7 c6f15980 Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: Call Trace: [iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-108710/96] [iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-245275/96] [iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-243776/96] [sys_ioctl+359/384] [system_call+51/56] Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: Nov 29 17:59:13 ao kernel: Code: f7 7b 24 5b c3 8d b4 26 00 00 00 00 8b 54 24 04 8b 44 24 08 Nov 29 17:59:15 ao kernel: <3>usb-uhci.c: ENXIO 80000280, flags 0, urb d84c8540, burb d84c8d40 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: divide error: 0000 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: CPU: 0 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: EIP: 0010:[iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-113724/96] Tainted: PF Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: EFLAGS: 00210246 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: eax: 00000000 ebx: ddae3740 ecx: 00000001 edx: 00000000 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: esi: ddae2ec0 edi: c26106c4 ebp: 00000000 esp: c5c9ff44 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: Process alsamixer (pid: 24759, stackpage=c5c9f000) Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: Stack: ddae3740 e09a875a ddae3740 00000001 c2610400 00000001 e09871e5 ddae2ec0 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: c2610400 d5adab40 bfffe958 c2c45512 ceded5c0 08059000 e09877c0 cebaf800 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: bfffe958 d5adab40 bfffe958 c2c45512 ffffffe7 cebaf800 c01427b7 c6f15980 Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: Call Trace: [iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-108710/96] [iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-245275/96] [iptable_mangle:__insmod_iptable_mangle_O/lib/modules/2.4.19-k7/kernel/net/+-243776/96] [sys_ioctl+359/384] [system_call+51/56] Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: Nov 29 17:59:19 ao kernel: Code: f7 7b 24 5b c3 8d b4 26 00 00 00 00 8b 54 24 04 8b 44 24 08 """ Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Get the new Palm Tungsten T handheld.
