I think the only use for '--with-sequencer=yes' for this card is if you use external MIDI equipment or use timidity as an ALSA sequencer client. It is not necessary to use timidity as an ALSA sequencer client if you just want to play MIDI files. http://www.djcj.org/LAU/guide/TiMidity-howto.html explains the use of timidity as an ALSA sequencer client.
