To use the wavetable synth, you have to load soundfonts to the chip. This is easily done with sfxload, a program found in T. Iwai's awesfx package from http://mitglied.lycos.de/iwai/awedrv.html You obviously need some soundfonts, there are some on the SBLive installation CD. When you have loaded a soundfont to the card, you just connect something that sends MIDI data to it with the aconnect utility that comes in alsa-tools or alsa-utils tarball (don't remember which). To connect external midi to the card, use the gameport, not the mini-dins on the front panel. (If yours is an SBLive Platinum.) They do not work (at least did not, haven't tested with rc6). I's been a while since I played with this. Hope there's no misinfo here. Correct me if I'm wrong or out of date. -- Jaakko Prattala [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
