Hi everybody!

I would like to know if somebody has already try (and succeded) to use the cs
4239 onboard chip of the thinkpad 600E with an alsa driver. To believe SuSE
it's possible, but their documentation seems not to be up to date. So I have
try their methode, which is explaned at the bottom of this page.

http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/laptop_daten_ibm_thinkpad-600e.html

( /sbin/modprobe snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=1
  /sbin/modprobe snd-cs4236 snd_index=0 snd_port=0x530 snd_cport=0x538
snd_irq=5 snd_dma1=1 snd_dma2=0 snd_isapnp=0 )

kernels modules are loaded (I see them if I make an lsmod), but if I begin to
listen an audio file (with such mpg123 for exemple) I can't hear no sound,
and the return of the program is :

/dev/dsp: No such file or directory

gni?

Any Ideas are welcome

Kernel: 2.4.19 and 2.4.19-ck10
Alsa 0.9.0rc2

best regards,

        Christophe
