Hi list, I have got no answers from the list, so I'm answering my own posting ...

Maybe midi works then ;-) (or not :-( ) Meanwhile I have unplugged my NIC, and so resolved the potential IRQ collision, but that changed nothing, niente, nada. I don't have any ideas anymore what could be the cause of this problem. Now I think I'll stay with 0.5.12a and wait until the real 0.9.0 is released. And then give 0.9.0 a try. As long term Suse linux user I'm a little bit frustrated about the missing assistance in this list > > While testing I have not seen any useful messages, but I have cat'ted most > of the info in /proc/asound when 0.9 was installed into a file, maybe > thats of > interest for a listmember here.
