Ok, so how do I get snd-pcm-oss loaded? When I do insmod snd-pcm-oss, I get
a "module not found". I need this so I can play quake3.

oss procfile appears only when snd-pcm-oss module is loaded, i.e. when the
oss pcm device is accessed.  usually the module is loaded dynamically.  so,
it's no problem, i guess.
