Please, forgive my english...
I have a MSI KT333 Ultra with VT8233A Southbridge and a Realtek ACL650 I downloaded the driver from Realtek home page (I also tried alsa driver with the same result) and get the next problem: Sound seems to work ("cat WATHEVER > /dev/dsp" works fine") even xmms sounds using OSS Emulation... But... When I try to play a game that uses SDL (for example foobillard http://foobillard.sunsite.dk/) "esd" (esound) starts up and a get no sound. I have always dislike esd, so i went to /etc/esd.conf and set esd_autospawn to 0 (or somethink like that). More over, Unreal Tournament does not sound at all... it doesn't even spawn esd!!! Before this motherboard I have a no sound motherboard with a SoundBlaster PCI 128 (es1371) it uses OSS/Free and SDL games and Unreal Tournament sound through OSS. I've never use esd. So, what is the problem... I don't care at all if SDL games sound through OSS Emulation, esd or directly throught alsa-driver... but I want full sound support... Any ideas... By the way, the driver seems to be correctly compiled the kernel modules load OK and my /etc/modules.conf is also OK. I'm using RH73 with a well compiled kernel version 2.4.19 Thanks... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DMI: Demian Gutierrez Tlf: 016-7743085 [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://orff.ing.ula.ve/~dmi ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
