After overcoming a few difficulties (gross understatement of the year) I was able to hear a test wav file through my Intel integrated card using AD1981A chipset.
But I still cannot hear any sound when I try to listen to audio CDs. I am using RH7.2 and have alsa-driver-0.9.0rc3 I will be glad to provide any more information as required.
