Hi,

I've installed 0.9.0-cvs20020801-0-SuSE-rpms on my system with "rpm" and
configured the soundcard so far successfully with "alsaconf". After a
restart I wanted to record something for tests with the
Gnome2-Soundrecorder and after that with the Soundrecorder of Gnome
1.4.1. The Gnome2-recorder started but recorded nothing, Gnome
1.4.1-Soundrecorder some noise.
Alsamixer's microphone level was at the highest postion, Playback
worked.
The problem appeared also on the ALSA-version contained on the
SuSE8.0-disks, so that I updated as suggested on the support-database
sites.
Sometimes Gnomemeeting-users can hear me talk, but i am unable to hear
them. I've tested on my LAN and couldn't get any sound, too. Microphone
and my SB128 PCI work well on other systems.I've tried several ways of
installing the packages, like updating or isolated installing.

I think this is a ALSA-problem and would like to konw if someone has
made the same experience and found a solution for this problem.

Many thanks in advance,

Matthias
