Thanks... I checked out ALSA CVS and did "make build" after modifying 
the Makefile to have OSS support and to build the driver for the cs46xx 
card... as well as uncommenting the lines above.

However, when it came to playing, it didn't seem to work. Modules 
loaded OK, but there was no sound. I am using the OSS emulation module, 
however, as XMMS crashes when using the ALSA output plugin... I also 
tried using alsaplayer, and got this:
