Hi, I joined the list because I have recently installed alsa 0.9.0rc2 and have had the same problem as George described in the thread: "amixer failure: "Invalid CTL default"."
When I run alsamixer I receive the error: mixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory I am running Mandrake 8.2 with devfs. I have tried correcting permissions, no go. I have tried rerunning ./snddevices, no go.
