Hi Everybody,

has anyone been using the Jazz++ sequencer with Alsa recently ? I am
trying to use Jazz with a softsynth (iiwusynth) via /dev/sequencer.
First I installed Jazz++ ver. 4.1.3 from the binary rpm. Then I saw
patches for Jazz++ 4.1.8 on Takashi's page
http://www.alsa-project.org/~iwai/alsa.html so I downloaded the Jazz++
4.1.8 source. The release notes specify that Jazz needs wxwin ver. 1.6.8
to compile and mentions a patch be applied (to wxwin). Unfortunately, I
haven't been able to find the patch in question, nor have I been able to
compile wxwin.

In terms of using aconnect and aseqview, I manage to get pmidi to play a
midi file with iiwusynth via /dev/sequencer or 128:0. I have set up a
"virtual midi" card but I haven't managed to use any of those virtual
midi ports to do the same (pmidi -> iiwusynth via 72:0). I haven't made
any strong decision on choosing Jazz++ and iiwusynth, I just haven't
managed to compile any other sequencer, and I haven't managed to compile
timidity as an alsa-sequencer client :-(

Any suggestions are welcome. Yours.
