I've created a "template page" (with no content so far) for the SBlive Mixer controllers and what they actually do (when someone figures them out :-).
http://alsa.opensrc.org/?SBliveMixerControls This page has some brief technical info about most SBlive Mixer controllers but it does not relate well to using alsamixer directly and does not explain how to apply the settings to real world usage. http://alsa.opensrc.org/?SBliveMixer I was rather shocked after quite a few weeks of anxiously trying to work out how to simply capture the output of rendered MIDI files (or any sounds far that matter) to a file that could eventually be converted to an ogg (or mp3).. I was literally shocked at a) how easy it was in the end to do so, and b) how hard it was to find out something that turned out to be so freaking simple ! I think we need more examples of how to apply ALSA technology to solving real-world everyday problems so I'm begging people that have figured out how to solve even the simplest of issues to put a paragraph of their experience on the ALSA Wiki. Whatever information is accumulated there will, amongst from other sources, find it's way into Quicktoots and other more formal documentation. Wiki (Wiki) means "quickly quickly" in Hawaiian... so easy to do, a new page can be created by just going to a URL, for example... http://alsa.opensrc.org/?HowToUseMyCard (if it does not already exist) will prepare a new page for editing then just refer to that page anywhere else in the Wiki, ie; whereever the word "HowToUseMyCard" appears will become an active link to that same page. All edits show up under the RecentChanges link. Don't delay... add you notes today ! --markc ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek PC Mods, Computing goodies, cases & more http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
