there is a USB audio driver on ALSA, snd-usb-audio module. just load the driver, plug the usb device in, and check whether the device is recognized. it will appear under /proc/asound/cards. (but i cannot guarantee that your device works without problems. better to test before buying it ;) don't forget to increase snd_cards_limit option for snd module if you have already set it to 1. also, if you are activating hotplug service, then both oss and alsa modules may be loaded when the usb device is detected. they will conflict with eath other. unload the oss module (audio.o) before use.
