I bought a zoltrix nightingale pro 6 with the hopes of doing straight AC3 sound to my 5.1 receiver. I installed alsa 0.90rc1, and I have basic sound working fine, but as far as I can tell, I can't get any sound to come out of the spdif interface. I have used alsa-mixer to unmute all the channels, and I do see 5 or 6 spdif related items in the mixer. http://www.linuxdvb.tv/documentation/ac3sound.html hints that spdif output should just work if I play simple sounds.
